_Supremus_ was Kazimir Malevich’s name for his compositions, and for the journal he never got to publish.

One dominant plane, a handful of smaller ones, bars and chips, all floating in white space along a diagonal. Small planes drift further than big ones, so they read as nearer.

## The generator

```javascript title="supremus.js"
const axis = random([-1, 1]) * random(0.3, 0.85);
const plane = (w, h) => ({
  pos: along(axis, random(-spread, spread)),
  w, h,
  angle: axis + (random() < 0.2 ? HALF_PI : 0) + random(-0.12, 0.12),
  ink: random(['#161616', '#c3272b', '#1f3f8f', '#e3b02a', '#2e6b4f', '#d8a7a0']),
});
// drawn back to front: the biggest plane first
planes.sort((a, b) => b.w * b.h - a.w * a.h);
// floating: nearer (smaller) planes travel further
const depth = 0.03 + 0.08 * (1 - plane.w / 0.4);
const dx = (noise(plane.seed, t) - noise(plane.seed, 0)) * 2 * depth;
```
